The video reveals splitting Black Locust log and making it to the bow staves. The log was 5″ thick.
Keep in mind when splitting wood – the split should be going through the trunk pith. It’s not equivalent with the center of the log.
I’m really thrilled about this wood. It looks quite comparable to Osage Orange.
